Children’s Camp in Japan

Nearly 55 children, all of them from non-Christian families, attended a weekend children’s camp in Japan over the summer. IPHC missionaries Hiro and Erin Bamba, Laura Clark, SOWer Bill Cleary, and Russell and Sandra Board worked the camp with help from Mari, a new Christian from the church in Nagasaki, and her cousin Erina. With more than 50 kids in attendance, the additional help was appreciated.

Despite the range in their ages, the kids enjoyed playing games together, making crafts, and appreciating the beauty of God’s creation – something they don’t have much chance to do on the crowded streets of Tokyo.

On the final day, Hiro Bamba shared a simple but powerful message about God’s plan of salvation. At the end, he asked for all who wanted God to “erase” the sins in their hearts to raise their hands. The missionaries were amazed and moved to see every hand go up!

“It brought tears to our eyes and filled our hearts with joy,” the Bambas wrote about their experience.

Please pray for all the children who attended the camp. Pray that the seeds planted in their hearts will grow and produce fruit their parents and siblings will be able to see.
