In May, Dan Clowers also attended a special Missions Convention for three days in Caracas, Venezuela, where they honored Elvio and June Canavesion and Charlene West for their years of service in Latin America, specifically to their conference in Venezuela. It was his privilege to minister in this conference and to join them in honoring these great missionaries.

The final service was highlighted with a passing of the torch that went from Charlene West, to the Canavesios and then to Dan Clowers. Dan asked if he could pass it on to whomever, and then he passed it on to the ten year-old son of Hernando Brochero. This was a prophetic moment for the work in Venezuela. As this powerful service ended about twenty-five young adults came forward to accept their call to missions.
