Rev. Mrs. Beatrice Sharoma was a participant in the GATHERING OF THE EAGLES, a convocation of key leaders from South Africa and Botswana.  She is the wife of the Conference Superintendent and has 6 children including 9 year old twin daughters. Rev. Sharoma pastors a growing, vibrant church, located in Turfloop, South Africa, near the University of Limpopo. Turfloop is surrounded by many small villages and significant ministry by the church is done in the villages to uplift the people both economically and spiritually.

When Rev Sharoma became pastor in 1993 the church had approximately 100 attendees.  Now the church is much larger as they are reaching out to University students.  She says, “There is a great move of God among the young people.”  “God is impressing me to develop leadership because my church is strategically placed so if leadership is well equipped then we can concentrate on winning souls to the Lord.”

Rev. Sharoma states that she has been taught that out of obedience and serving come prosperity and not to bear grudges but be quick to forgive.  “We must not cry for a long time but forgive quickly.”

In her church, Rev. Sharoma teaches the importance of prayer, giving, and respect for those in leadership.  Prayer Walks are an important aspect of the church’s ministry.  Rev. Sharoma tells of a dangerous stretch of road where accidents occurred regularly.  The road was divided into segments and church members were assigned to walk and pray over their assigned section of the road.  As a result the accident rate has decreased dramatically.

The occult and syncretism of traditional beliefs with Christianity are very big problems for the churches in LimpopoRev Sharoma states, “The people are covering up their return to witchcraft with Christianity.  We need much prayer in this unique and difficult battle with the forces of satan.”

Of the GATHERING OF THE EAGLES, Rev. Mrs. Sharoma had this to say, “We received a lot of encouragement from the leaders which gives us power to continue.” Prayer is needed for this humble woman of God who has taken on the mammoth assignment of pastoring, teaching and mentoring.  With always a smile on her face and an encouraging word from her mouth she is an asset to the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Africa
