Coffee House Ministries proves an effective ministry tool in Japan. World Missions Ministries has been receiving updates on Coffee Houses located in Nagasaki and Saitama City. The news is an encouragement to missionaries to Japan, Tyler and Laura Clark and Hiro and Eryn Bamba.
NIC House, The Coffee House ministry out of Nagasaki International Church (NIC) in Nagasaki, Japan, celebrates its one year anniversary this month. Tyler and Laura Clark returned to the field from furlough to find the church and Coffee House (CH) Ministry had grown during their absence - the signs of a healthy church.
The CH hosts as many as 17 people on a regular basis and 35 on Friday nights. Many of their guests would never consider attending church, but come to share over coffee and cake. Tyler and Laura Clark open the doors and allow the Gospel to speak for itself at NIC House.
Hiro and Eryn Bamba open Friendship House on Sunday mornings, hoping to attract the mothers of children who come to Sunday school. The mothers usually just drop their children off and leave, but Hiro and Eryn hope to change that trend by giving the parents a reason to stay. The CH provides a non-threatening atmosphere where families can get to know each other and talk about the Gospel. Saeko, the Bambas’ friend and a recent convert under their ministry, has graciously offered to run the CH.
World Missions Ministries asks for your continued prayer and support for these two growing ministries. If you would like to contribute to the ongoing, effective ministry of these Coffee Houses, you may send your contributions to World Missions Ministries, earmarked NIC Coffee House, Acct #71003, or Friendship House, Acct #71001.
