Vijay Balla, his wife Aparanjani, and their children Andrew and Roslin left their homes in India in September of 2002 to accept the challenge of taking the Gospel to Bangladesh. With a Ph.D. in Physiology, Vijay comes from an unusual background for a minister. He left his high-status job in a government laboratory in response to God’s call to ministry, and the Lord has given him a grand vision to see church-planting movements established throughout the Indian sub-continent. Before embarking on the mission to Bangladesh, Vijay served IPHC for eight years in Hyderabad, South India, planting a church and establishing a Bible School.
Since arriving in Bangladesh, the Ballas have established a network of some 30 churches across several regions of the country. They have set up Bangladesh Theological Institute in the capital city of Dhaka to train church planters and leaders. They have also founded Holiness Academy, a primary school serving poor families in the community, and a boarding school for village children with no educational opportunities.
In addition to directing ministry in Bangladesh, Vijay travels throughout the region to give oversight to IPHC works in Nepal, Myanmar, and Sri Lanka.
